Job summary

Carris Reels is hiring for a Reel Assembler in Rutland, VT (Zip 05701). The role is full-time on Shift 1 (7AM-3PM). Responsibilities include assembling wood reels for the wire and cable industry, following customer specs, and maintaining production flow. Prioritize safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Follow established methods and procedures necessary to build a wooden reel.
• Read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow.
• Interpersonal and group communications skills are necessary.
• Be familiar with, and use, measuring tools. Must be able to perform simple shop math.
• Build wood reels using hand and pneumatic tools.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations including PPE.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.

Shift 1: 7AM-3PM

Hiring minimum is $18 per hour

Carris Reels is seeking quality-minded, dependable individuals to join our talented team of Employee Owners at our West Rutland Assembly Division- which has Support/Prep, Shipping, Tube Making, and Assembly departments. These key positions require working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assembling wood reels for the wire and cable industry. Long periods of standing, attention to safe practices, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a team setting are also required.

• Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and customer specifications with minimum supervision.

• Must be able to read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to regularly lift and/move materials or finished product up to 50 pounds
• Required to stand, bend, lift arms, and reach.
