Job summary
The County of San Diego is recruiting experienced deputies for the position of Sheriff’s Sergeant within the San Diego Sheriff’s Office. Sergeants supervise Deputy Sheriffs in daily operations across a division, ensuring effective performance and adherence to procedures.
Qualified applicants must have a California P.O.S.T. Basic Law Enforcement Certificate and at least four years as a San Diego County Deputy Sheriff.
Qualifications
- Requires California P.O.S.T. Basic Law Enforcement Certificate and at least four (4) years of experience as a County of San Diego Deputy Sheriff.
- Intermediate or Advanced P.O.S.T Certificate is highly desirable; individuals must meet requirements of lower levels classifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise Deputy Sheriffs engaged in department activities within a division on a daily basis.
- Uphold department policies and procedures and mentor staff to improve performance.
- Lead and solve problems to maximize team effectiveness and drive organizational change.
