Job summary

County of San Diego Sheriff's Department seeks a Deputy Sheriff’s Cadet to begin a 26-week training academy, with promotion to Deputy Sheriff upon graduation. The role includes classroom study, exams, and physical training aligned with POST standards.

On graduation, base pay is $43.04/hour with additional POST incentive pay of 5% for Intermediate POST and 13.5% for Advanced POST where eligible. Pre-employment screening applies.

Responsibilities

• Attend a 26-week training academy and graduate as Deputy Sheriff-Detentions/Court Services.
• Complete required training topics including Jail Procedures, Post procedures and firearms training.
• Upon graduation, be promoted to Deputy Sheriff-Detentions/Court Services.
