Successful completion of the Detentions/Court Services Academy is required, along with age and background screening prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Completed County of San Diego Sheriff's Detentions/Court Services Academy.
• Minimum age 20½ at time of completing online application; minimum age 21 at time of appointment.
• Background check and pre-employment medical screening required per POST.
• Illegal drug use and possession prohibited for Sheriff's Office employees.
