Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling is seeking a SHEQ Coordinator in New Orleans, LA to support Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs across our Greater New Orleans sites. You will conduct audits, develop and maintain Site Safety Plans, promote SHEQ awareness, and assist with training and regulatory compliance to ensure a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency required.
• 3+ years of SHEQ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI and local/state rules.
• Environmental regulations knowledge, permitting, tracking and reporting.
• Valid driver's license.
• Safety certifications are highly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Strongly focused on an industrial setting ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
• Assist the Facility Manager/site personnel with implementation and execution of site, corporate, and regulatory requirements
• Promote SHEQ awareness by building on existing culture and program strengths, contributing communication with all level employees, and promoting positive reinforcement of safety and health rules and regulations.
• Manage Site Safety Plans and SDS database
• Conduct formal and informal site audits, job audits, and routine facility audits as needed or as directed.
• Assist SHEQ/Operations teams in the execution of SHEQ procedures documenting findings, corrective actions, and tracking of closure items identified.
• Provide site specific safety/new hire orientation, personnel training, and manage database to track current training within designated terminals.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
