Job summary

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is seeking an Environmental Management Specialist to support the Duluth, MN EPA laboratory operations. The role involves administrative and laboratory tasks within the SHEM program under SSE’s contract with the USEPA.

You will assist in reporting, records management, and training material development, while collaborating with the Division Program Operations Staff (D-POS) to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education completed.
• At least four college courses in biological, chemical or environmental sciences.
• Demonstrated laboratory experience or coursework.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
• Experience in administrative support, recordkeeping, and databases.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist SHEM team with technical and administrative duties on-site.
• Research and prepare reports on safety, health, and environmental topics.
• Support SHEM meetings and prepare written reports in Word.
• Maintain office records and assist data entry in Access and Excel.
• Create and present safety, health, and environmental training materials.
• Maintain SHEM training records.
• Support chemical inventory, waste management, eyewash testing, hazard communication, and industrial hygiene activities.
• Develop safety and health communications such as bulletins, posters, and PowerPoint slides.
