Job summary

New Frontier Animal Medical Center is seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead the shelter medical team and oversee the medical suite, equipment, supplies, and medications. You will supervise exam, restraint, inoculation and treatment duties as needed under the attending veterinarian.

The role requires current veterinary technician skills, staff leadership experience, and strong communication to coordinate with management, foster parents, and partners in a shelter setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• 2–5 years’ experience as a veterinary technician.
• Shelter medicine experience desirable but not required.
• Minimum 2 years managing personnel, volunteers or teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead shelter medical staff and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Oversee the shelter medical suite, equipment, inventory and meds.
• Supervise exams, vaccinations, and medication administration.
• Ensure training, SOPs, OSHA compliance and customer service standards.
• Maintain medical records and prepare reports for management.
• Manage budgeting and ordering for the shelter medical department.
