Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter is seeking a Shelter Support Professional to provide compassionate support to individuals experiencing complex needs within a low-barrier care environment. This role includes duties such as client intake, crisis intervention, and documentation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, communication skills, and the ability to engage with individuals facing challenges such as mental health and housing instability.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals facing mental health, substance use, or homelessness challenges.
• Strong observational and situational awareness skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial screening, registration, and risk assessment.
• Conduct continuous or intermittent observation of clients.
• Apply trauma-informed and harm-reduction techniques.
