Lantern Community Services is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor for a single male adult shelter in Ozone Park, Queens. The role oversees shelter operations, supervises Residential Aides, and coordinates with Social Services, Maintenance and Security to ensure safe, consistent service delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years shelter experience, 1+ year supervisory experience, and strong crisis-management skills, with MS Office proficiency; English/Spanish bilingual preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of three years of shelter experience.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in a DHS shelter or supportive housing setting.
• High School Diploma, HSE, or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification required or ability to obtain.
• NYC Food Handler’s Certificate required or ability to obtain within three months of employment.

Aufgaben

• Oversee daily shelter operations during assigned shifts and supervise Residential Aides.
• Coordinate with Social Services, Maintenance, Security and vendors to ensure safe service delivery.
• Ensure access to meals, laundry, toiletries, and medications for clients.
• Lead staff in Safe Crisis Management and respond to emergencies and critical incidents.
• Process and document new and returning clients, including bed assignments and DHS submissions.
• Complete required documentation such as logs and incident reports.
