Catholic Charities DC seeks a Program Supervisor to lead Shelter Monitors in a 24/7 men’s shelter serving about 250 clients per shift. You will ensure safety, enforce policies, and coordinate daily operations with staff and partners.

You’ll supervise up to 14 direct reports, schedule shifts, monitor performance, and drive training and quality improvements while maintaining compassionate service and compliance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• 2 years of direct service experience with the adult homeless or other vulnerable population.
• 3 years of administrative and supervisory experience with at least 5 subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Shelter Monitors on an 8-hour shift in a 24/7 adult men’s shelter serving ~250 clients per shift.
• Create schedules and assign work to ensure proper staffing at all times.
• Meet with the off-going supervisor and tour assigned areas at shift start, noting discrepancies.
• Accompany each Shelter Monitor on rounds to observe performance and provide coaching.
• Visit each Shelter Monitor post every two hours to ensure alertness and log observations.
• Liaise with Agency partners supporting shelter operations (security, hospitality).
• Submit end-of-shift reports to the Operations Manager with incidents and observations.
• Provide administrative supervision to Shelter Monitors; coach, counsel, and take corrective action.
