WINGS Program, Inc. in Chicago seeks an Assistant Safe House Manager to streamline daily operations of the Safe House and Crisis Line, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients escaping domestic violence.

The role entails leadership, problem solving, and compassionate service to guests and staff. Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, handling intake and eligibility, and coordinating with the Safe House Team to meet guest needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 2 years of supervisory experience and experience with domestic violence, homelessness, mental health, or substance abuse preferred.
• 40-hour domestic violence training preferred.
• CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
• ICDVP credential preferred.
• Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Safehouse, including supervision, training, and scheduling of staff and volunteers; manage intake and eligibility evaluations; ensure safety, cleanliness, and policy compliance.
• Oversee Crisis Line operations and provide intervention, counseling, safety planning, and referrals.
• Support Safehouse guests with emotional support, case management, crisis intervention, and group work.
• Maintain records including client files and statistics; assist in training and supervising staff when needed.
• Attend required meetings and trainings; report critical issues per agency procedures.
