Job summary

Homefull in Dayton, OH seeks a Shelter Attendant to ensure safe, clean shelter services and support clients at the Gettysburg Shelter for Men. You will work as part of the Shelter Team delivering front desk duties and basic operations.

The role requires compassion, strong communication, de-escalation skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations. BA or MHT degree preferred or related experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in human services, preferably with homeless families.
• BA or MHT degree preferred, or related work experience.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shelter cleanliness and organization, including common areas and laundry.
• Operate front desk: check visitors in/out, answer phones, monitor security as applicable.
• Coordinate safety by monitoring access areas and enforcing shelter rules.
• Assist with food service, showers, meals, and daily schedules.
• Record events in the daily log and coordinate with on-site security.
