Job summary

Homefull is hiring a Shelter Attendant in Dayton, OH, to provide basic, safe, clean, and professional shelter services at the Gettysburg Shelter for Men. You will be part of a reliable Shelter Team, ensuring compassionate care and proper operations.

The role involves front desk duties, coordinating safety, assisting with daily schedules, and supporting CM staff in coordinating services for clients.

Qualifications

• BA or MHT degree preferred, or related work experience.
• Experience in human services, preferably with homeless families.
• Basic understanding of homelessness and related characteristics; experience with mental illness and/or chemical dependency preferred.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shelter, laundry, food, common areas.
• Operate shelter front desk: check visitors in/out, answer phones, monitor security systems.
• Coordinate safety and security by monitoring access areas and enforcing shelter rules.
• Assist with shelter operations including food service, cleaning, mail sorting, and daily schedules.
