Job summary

University of Wisconsin - Madison, Department of Medical Sciences, Shelter Medicine, seeks a 1-year Clinical Instructor to provide teaching for Shelter Medicine and Community Engaged Care programs. The role includes clinical training, didactic sessions, and outreach to veterinary students, interns, and residents, with teaching at DCHS and in community settings.

The successful candidate will have strong communication, organizational skills, and a track record in shelter medicine and population

Qualifications

DVM eligible to be licensed in Wisconsin by start date.
Experience in population health management for companion animals and in high-volume shelter medicine.
Experience with instruction, mentoring, feedback, and building a positive learning community.
Experience working in or with animal shelters.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction for Shelter Medicine and Community Engaged Care (UWSMP) Maddie's Teaching and Training Programs.
Teach veterinary students, interns and residents through clinical training, didactic teaching and outreach.
Carry out teaching at Dane County Humane Society and in communities served by UWSMP.
Demonstrate leadership, independence and collaboration in a team environment.
