Volunteers of America Upstate NY is seeking a Lead Resident Assistant (Temporary) to provide direct support to shelter clients and supervise Resident Assistants. The role collaborates with shelter management and case managers to ensure safety, program compliance, and consistent service delivery.

The position requires strong communication, crisis-handling abilities, and the capacity to work in a changing, sometimes challenging environment.

Competenze

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain adult and pediatric first aid/CPR certification.

Mansioni

• Provide direct support to clients in the shelter and maintain a safe, structured environment.
• Supervise and support Resident Assistants during shifts; assist with scheduling and coverage.
• Address client concerns and enforce shelter rules and program procedures.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and room turnovers.
• Assist with intakes and discharges and participate in mandatory trainings.
