Job summary

The Salvation Army Melbourne shelter in Melbourne, FL is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for residents and programs. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with benefits.

You will plan menus, purchase food, and cook using safe, economical methods. A High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of cooking for large groups are preferred; State Driver License is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience cooking food for large groups.
• Equivalent training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, cooks, and serves nutritional meals and snacks per established guidelines and schedules.
• Cooks and serves meals while maintaining safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Plans menus and purchases food and supplies necessary for the preparation and serving of nutritional meals.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and assists in coordinating programs and events.
