Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is seeking a Cook/Chef for CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence in Columbus, Ohio. The role supports a mission to serve people in need and works 11am–7pm with every other weekend shifts, offering a $17/hour pay rate for full-time employment.

Responsibilities include preparing balanced meals, coordinating volunteer efforts with sensitivity to trauma, and maintaining strict sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food service is required.
• Experience serving low income or homeless populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure meals are appetizing and nutritionally balanced.
• Coordinate and assist volunteer efforts with a trauma-informed approach.
• Comply with state and facility sanitation procedures.
• Accept, log, and store donations with proper dating.
• Plan food production to align with meal serving hours while preserving quality.
• Support safety and risk management procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
