Job summary

Fedcap Rehabilitation Services seeks a Janitorial Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Porters delivering custodial services for shelters under NYC DHS contracts. You’ll supervise, train, and schedule staff, ensuring immaculate service in line with contract requirements and respectful interactions with staff and shelter residents.

You’ll monitor performance, complete documentation, and coordinate with on-site teams across Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
Valid US drivers license required.
Maintenance skills with experience (3+ years) including stripping/waxing floors, carpet cleaning, steam cleaning, and related duties.
Supervisory experience managing at least five employees.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to manage on-site interactions.

Responsibilities

Supervise Porters and participate in cleaning and maintenance including stripping, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning bathrooms and offices; removing garbage and maintaining facilities.
Manage Porter performance including scheduling, attendance tracking, training, and incident reporting.
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
