Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa is hiring an Intake Specialist for Gateway West Shelter in Albuquerque, NM. You will manage guest intake, complete assessments, and help connect clients with housing, healthcare, and supportive services.

Role requires flexibility for weekends/holidays, with on-site work at 7440 Jim McDowell Rd. Emphasis on trauma-informed care, accurate documentation, and safe operations in a shelter setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field preferred.
• Experience with homelessness or supportive housing is desirable.
• Proficiency with HMIS or similar client management systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and maintain accurate HMIS records.
• Administer VI-SPDAT assessments for appropriate guests.
• Coordinate housing, healthcare, and community resources for guests.
• Assist with crisis intervention and safety duties as needed.
