Job summary

Heading Home in Boston, MA is seeking a Full-Time, hourly House Manager to run the Shelter program under the supervision of the Program Manager. The role emphasizes resident support and enforcement of house rules.

You will admit residents, help maintain daily logs, and ensure supplies and meals are available. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, at $21.21 per hour, with a November 2026 start.

Qualifications

• Experience working with homeless individuals or at-risk populations.
• Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in crises and communicate effectively.
• Physical ability to ascend/descend stairs and move equipment up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manages the operations of the program during the day.
• Admits residents and assesses suitability for shelter placement.
• Ensures supplies and meals are available for residents.
• Maintains staff logs and attends scheduled meetings.
• Adheres to agency policies, procedures and rules.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator.
