Job summary

Just Compassion of East Washington County is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for participants, visitors, and community partners at the Tigard Shelter.

The role blends hospitality with administrative duties, data entry into HMIS and internal systems, and a commitment to trauma-informed, confidential service.

Shifts available include Saturday through Wednesday, 7:00am–3:00pm, supporting shelter operations and coordinated participant services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of administrative support, customer service, front desk experience, or related field.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to data entry, recordkeeping, and documentation.
• Ability to stay calm and professional in fast-paced or crisis situations.
• Respect for confidentiality and trauma-informed engagement practices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist participants, visitors, and partners in a welcoming, trauma-informed manner.
• Answer and route phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
• Monitor entry/exit for security and authorized access.
• Maintain sign-in logs and related documentation.
• Provide information about shelter services, policies, and resources.
• Respond to concerns professionally and notify supervisors as needed.
• Input and maintain participant data and service records in HMIS and internal systems.
• Ensure accurate daily data entry for intakes, exits, and transactions.
• Maintain paper/electronic files in line with HIPAA and policies.
• Prepare logs, reports, and administrative documentation as assigned.
• Support general administrative functions and document management.
• Assist with scheduling, internal communications, and incident response.
