Job summary

The Salvation Army Sacramento Center of Hope is seeking a Shelter Services Manager to oversee caseworkers and shelter operations 24/7. You will supervise staff, maintain client records, and ensure timely HMIS reporting under Prop-47 contracts.

Strong collaboration with community resources is essential to support homeless individuals and families. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of supervisory experience in social services, familiarity with Excel/Word, and a valid California driver license.

Qualifications

• AA degree or 3–5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have 3–5 years supervisory experience in social services.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and databases is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise caseworkers and laundry staff at the Emergency Shelter.
• Assign and supervise daily tasks for caseworkers and staff.
• Manage services provided to shelter clients.
• Maintain logs, reports, and client files for shelter clients.
• Ensure quality and quantity of case management appointments.
• Input HMIS/Prop-47 contract client data and other shelter reports.
• Develop and maintain a community referral list for the shelter.
• Interview clients to assess problems and determine needs.
• Collect and evaluate medical/psychosocial information.
• Assist clients in recognizing patterns and solutions.
• Refer clients to community resources.
• Enter intake and case management notes into Bridges & Others software.
