Job summary

Making Opportunity Count is seeking an Assistant Manager of Shelter Case Management to support case management and client services across North Central Massachusetts shelters. You will supervise the case management team and help ensure quality services aligned with EOHLC Shelter Scope of Services.

The role involves coordinating with the Shelter Manager and Director, maintaining logs, and providing crisis response in collaboration with leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience in the human service field.
• 2 years’ experience in the State’s Family Emergency Assistance Shelter Program funded by EOHLC.
• Training in CPR and First Aid.
• Ability to demonstrate compassion and understand the needs of homeless families.
• Strong communication and ability to set limits.
• DEI commitment and ability to lead over the long term.
• Multi-lingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite presence for families in Shelter and assist case managers in goal setting.
• Track case management efforts to ensure compliance with EOHLC Shelter Scope of Services.
• Enforce shelter rules and ensure residents’ needs are met.
• Ensure new families entering shelter are assigned a case manager.
• Maintain accuracy of spreadsheets and progress logs toward rehousing goals.
• Respond to crises with supervisor support and provide staff supervision.
