Job summary

CAMBA, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit serving New York City, is seeking a Residential Aide for the Park Slope Shelter for Women in Brooklyn. You will maintain client relationships, uphold confidentiality, and help with daily shelter operations including meals, laundry, and safety checks.

The position is full-time (35 hours/week) with a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance and a 403(b) plan. Training in DOH food handling and safety is required or provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Participate in Department of Health Food Protection 15 hour Course, pass exam and become a certified Food Handler.
• Must obtain Annual PPD Test.
• May be required to become First Aid/CPR certified.
• May be required to become certified in overdose prevention.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
• Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures.
• Comply with all federal, state, city and CAMBA security and privacy policies.
• Update clients on program changes through meetings.
• Assist with client bed-check every evening.
• Distribute clean bed linens, blankets, pillows, and towels to clients.
• Escort clients when needed.
• Prepare kitchen and dining facilities for meals and clean up after meals.
• May plan and facilitate social and/or peer support events for clients.
