Job summary

CAMBA is seeking a Part-Time Residential Aide for the Rising Up Men’s Shelter in Brooklyn, NY. You will support residents with daily living, safety, meals, and program logistics, under supervision. This role emphasizes compassionate care within a structured shelter setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with bed checks, meal prep, and maintaining clean facilities. Priorities include safety, dignity, and connecting clients to housing stability resources.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions with basic reading, writing, and math.
• Upon hire, participate in Dept. of Health 15-hour Food Handler course and certification.

Responsibilities

• Update and inform clients of program changes during meetings.
• Assist with client bed-check every evening.
• Conduct dorm inspections for policy compliance.
• Intervene to diffuse inappropriate client interactions as needed.
• Monitor client behavior and report changes to Supervisor or social services staff.
• Ensure clients receive personal and laundry care items weekly and replace as needed.
• Sort, bag, and manage bed linens, towels and related items.
