The City of Lewisville seeks an Animal Care Officer to assist with shelter operations, animal care, and maintenance. You will support staff in daily duties and interact with visitors and volunteers.

Responsibilities include assisting with euthanasia when needed, handling animals safely, and ensuring cleanliness. Applicants must meet licensing and training timelines and have a valid Texas driver's license.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months of animal care or related experience or training.
• Must complete Animal Control Officer Basic Course within 6 months of hire.
• Must obtain Euthanasia Technician certification within 4 months of hire.
• Must pass background, drug test, medical exam and JPA; valid Texas Driver’s License Class C.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with coordinating animal care, housekeeping, and shelter tasks.
• Assist officers with euthanasia, answering phones, dispatching.
• Interact with shelter visitors and support Volunteer and Foster programs.
• Perform or assist with other shelter duties as instructed.
• Monitor animal health conditions and record observations.
