Job summary

City of Crestview Police Department seeks an Animal Care Technician to support the Animal Control division. The role involves caring for shelter animals, processing intakes and outplacements, and ensuring animals’ physical and emotional needs are met daily.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of animal care experience, with a focus on safety and compassionate handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months prior experience in an animal care role.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and restrain animals when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and sanitary environment for animals.
• Greet customers and provide information about services, animals, and laws.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers by in person, phone, and email.
• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, dishes, and equipment daily.
• Care for, feed, monitor animals, and report medical concerns.
