Job summary

City of West Jordan is seeking a dedicated Animal Services Clerk to assist the Animal Services Division. Under supervision, you will perform shelter cleaning, handle animal care tasks, and provide clerical support including data entry and records management.

You will greet the public at the counter, explain procedures, collect payments, and assist officers as needed. Prior janitorial or office experience and a valid Utah driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of janitorial or general office clerical work experience; caring for animals preferred.
• Valid Utah Driver’s License and ability to obtain UCJIS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily maintenance of the animal shelter, cleaning and animal care.
• Observe and assist the public at the counter, answer questions, and collect payments.
• Provide information to the public regarding animals, regulations, and services.
• Record and compile statistical reports; perform data entry and filing.
• Handle animals safely at the front counter and in the shelter; assist officers as needed.
• Perform administrative duties including typing, proofreading, and record-keeping.
