Job summary

City of Jonesboro is seeking an Animal Services Technician to care for domesticated animals, respond to emergencies, and perform clerical duties within the Animal Control department. The role requires readiness for after-hours calls and a commitment to animal welfare while operating a city vehicle.

You will help with euthanasia records, wildlife control and routine facility maintenance, ensuring safety and compliance with health department standards.

Qualifications

• Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.

• Regular interaction with the general public and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide food, water and sterilize kennels against disease.
• Picks up abandoned or stray animals.
• Provide medical care to animals including inoculations.
• Handle clerical tasks, answer phone, service calls and logs information.
• Assist Kennel Masters as needed.
• Traps and eradicates nuisance wildlife.
• Certified euthanist and maintains records.
• Responds to emergency calls after hours.
• Maintain quarantined animals and facility.
• Provide first responder care to injured animals.
