Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Denver Animal Protection is seeking a Behavior and Care Technician II to care for animals in custody, perform behavioral evaluations, and participate in enrichment programs. You will maintain clean housing, monitor health, and assist veterinarians with vaccines and medications as needed.

This full-time on-site role requires the ability to lift heavy loads, work varied shifts, and collaborate with staff and volunteers to support the shelter’s mission of safe, humane

Qualifications

• Two years of animal-care experience in veterinary, shelter, or similar setting.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic animal care and maintain a clean, safe shelter environment.
• Participate in enrichment activities and behavioral evaluations.
• Observe animals for health/behavior changes and report to veterinary staff.
• Assist and train volunteers and staff; participate in emergency response as needed.
• Perform intake exams and administer vaccines/medications when required.
