Job summary

Polk Mechanical is seeking a Sheet Metal Journeyman to fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and HVAC duct systems at our Grand Prairie, TX site. You will operate brakes, shears, punches, and other fabrication equipment to shape ductwork per blueprints and specifications.

The role requires hands-on installation of ductwork and HVAC components, attention to detail, and strong blueprint interpretation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of verifiable sheet metal experience required.
• Experience working in commercial or industrial HVAC environments.
• Trade certifications preferred.
• Valid driver''s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and HVAC duct systems
• Operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, bending rolls, and punch presses
• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to specifications
• Use hand tools, power tools, air hammers, and welding equipment to assemble ductwork and components
• Install ductwork and sheet metal assemblies according to blueprints and specifications
• Install HVAC components such as air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, and unit heaters
• Inspect and test installations to ensure conformance with project requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings and sketches
