Mittera Arlington is seeking a Sheetfed Second Press Operator to assist with setup and operation of a printing press, ensuring customer specifications are met and deadlines are achieved. The role requires reading job tickets, color adjustments, and maintaining press quality under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years of multicolor second press experience, strong math and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3+ years of multicolor second press operator experience preferred.
• Ability to read work instructions and business memos.
• Strong communication with all levels and attention to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Read job tickets, layout sheets, and specs before starting.
• Know setup and maintenance procedures for entire press.
• Program CPC color standards for color adjustments.
• Achieve color OK to proofs under supervision.
• Maintain ink and water systems for print quality.
• Perform press operations: make-readies, folder operation, register color.
• Review job orders for quantities, stock, colors, and instructions.
• Pull proofs to check ink coverage, alignment, and registration.
• Assist Press Operator with web tension and press speed adjustments.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform preventive maintenance.
• Document maintenance issues and carry out other duties as assigned.
