JohnsByrne in Niles, IL is hiring a Sheeter Helper to stage, inspect, and load large paper rolls into the sheeting line. You will assist the Sheeter Operator during setup and prepare finished pallets for shipment.

Job Category: Manufacturing. The Sheeter Helper is responsible for staging, inspecting, and loading large paper rolls into the sheeting machinery. They support the Sheeter Operator during machine setups, safely manage production waste, and prepare finished, stacked pallets of sheeted paper for the next phase of shipping or printing.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience and/or Training: Previous work in warehouse, printing, packaging, or paper manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Familiarity with forklifts, clamp trucks, or manual pallet jacks is often required.
Technical Basics: Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/32 of an inch and perform basic mathematical tracking calculations.
Computer Literacy: Minimal data entry skills to log inventory changes into ERP software or tracking systems.
Safety Protocols: Strict commitment to following safety initiatives, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols, and wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
High physical endurance to stand and walk for up to 12 hours on a concrete production floor.
Capability to manually lift, push, and handle heavy production items up to 50 lbs.
Agility for frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and climbing access stairs around massive equipment.
Comfort working in non-climate-controlled plant environments prone to high noise levels, vibrations, and ambient paper dust.
