Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker for 100% FTE day shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM). The role involves layout, welding, and installation of fire dampers within a healthcare facility.

Required is a five-year sheet metal apprenticeship; two years on mechanical systems and three years in hospital sheet metal work are preferred. Excellent benefits and diverse schedules are offered.

Qualifications

  • Five-year sheet metal apprenticeship is required.
  • Two years of work experience with mechanical systems construction/installation.
  • Three years of sheet metal experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Layout sheet metal projects including design and layout and organize materials.
  • Perform GTAW and GMAW welding with various metals.
  • Install, test and inspect fire dampers.
  • Offer creative and custom metalworking.

Work Schedule:

100% FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Sheet Metal Worker:

  • Layout sheet metal projects including design and layout and organizing materials.
  • Perform welding including GTAW and GMAW with various types of metals.
  • Install, test and inspect fire dampers.
  • Offer creative and custom metalworking.

Qualifications
  • Five (5) year sheet metal apprenticeship Required
Work Experience
  • 2 years work experience and construction / installation of mechanical systems Required
  • 3 years experience with sheet metal work in a hospital setting Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Journeyman certificate in Sheet Metal Upon Hire Required
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license issued by the individual's state of residence. Must be at least 21 years old or have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience to operate a Personal Vehicle, Patient/Visitor Vehicle, or standard UW Health Fleet Vehicle. Upon Hire Required
