Gallo Mechanical, LLC is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Welder to join our Lafayette, LA team. The role focuses on welding, fabrication, and interpreting blueprints to accurately assemble sheet metal components in a fast-paced environment.

You will read technical drawings, perform welds across MIG, TIG, and stick processes, and ensure finished work meets quality standards. The job involves substantial physical activity and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship in welding is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Welder or similar welding role.
• Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.
• AWS certification preferred.
• Able to work in diverse conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welding & fabrication: join, cut, or shape sheet metal components.
• Blueprint interpretation to determine welding techniques and materials.
• Quality control: inspect welds for standards and tolerances.
• Metal preparation: cut and fit metal before welding.
• Safety compliance: wear PPE and follow safety regulations.
• Maintenance: care for welding tools and equipment.
• Team collaboration with other welders and production staff.
• Troubleshoot welding issues to minimize rework.
