Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking an experienced sheet metal fabrication professional.

The role involves fabricating, assembling, installing and repairing production sheet metal components in accordance with blueprints and specifications. Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and several years of related experience, with related certifications being a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 5 years of related experience or further education.
• Apprentice graduate/Associate's Degree in a relevant discipline plus 3 years of related experience. Certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs production sheet metal products and equipment.
• Makes sheet metal layouts; sets up and operates fabricating machinery; shapes metal over anvils, blocks, or forms.
• Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications; may monitor quality using statistical process control.
