Job summary

BARNES AEROSPACE is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician for 1st shift in Granby, CT. Expect to work from 7:00am to 3:30pm, performing sheet metal assembly tasks and reading blueprints.

The role requires 1–4 years of experience, physical ability to lift materials, and strong teamwork skills to solve problems with colleagues. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, measuring and laying out materials, and securing components with rivets and fasteners while ensuring safety and quality in

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of sheet metal, shop assembly experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how to where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products.
• Measure, mark dimensions and lay out materials to be installed using tools such as scribes, micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.
• Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and seamless appearance.
• Fasten details on aircraft and industrial engine components using rivets, fasteners, bolts, etc.
