Job description

Sheet Metal Technician (1st Shift Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm)

East Granby- Bradly Park

Position Details:

1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Your Expertise:

  • 1-4 years of sheet metal, shop assembly experience
  • Ability to cross train to support all areas of Sheet Metal Assembly
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to solve complex issues

Your Challenge:

  • Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how to fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products
  • Measure, mark dimensions, and lay out materials to be installed using tools such as scribes, micrometers, Vernier calipers, etc.
  • Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file, and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and seamless appearance.
  • Fasten details on aircraft and industrial engine components using rivets, fasteners, bolts, etc.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
