Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Mid South, Inc. seeks an HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice II to support fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal and HVAC equipment.

Under guidance of experienced mechanics, you will assist with ductwork, control boxes, and related components in field and shop environments. The role requires 1–2 years of sheet metal or HVAC installation experience, ability to read basic blueprints, and a willingness to work 40 hours per week with overtime.

Qualifications

  • Reads basic blueprints and follows directions from senior team members.
  • Works well on a team and communicates respectfully.
  • Able to read a ruler or tape measure accurately.
  • Willing to travel to job sites and occasionally stay overnight.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal products and HVAC equipment.
  • Assist with installing ductwork per SMACNA standards for ATUs, RTUs, and split systems.
  • Support fabrication and assembly tasks as directed by supervisor or lead mechanic.

Job description

HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice II We are seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a full-time HVAC Sheet Metal Apprentice II. This role supports the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal products and HVAC equipment, including ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and related components. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics and foremen, the Apprentice II will assist with a variety of tasks in both field and shop environments.

Work May Involve
  • Minimum 1-2 years of sheet metal or HVAC installation experience
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and follow directions from senior team members
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed
  • Reliable transportation
  • Assist in installing ductwork per SMACNA standards for ATUs, RTUs, and Split Systems
  • Support fabrication and assembly tasks as directed by the supervisor or lead mechanic

  • Punctual and regular attendance
  • Ability to work well on a team and interact respectfully with others
  • Ability to accurately read a ruler or tape measure
  • Ability to travel to job sites and occasionally stay overnight if required
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
