Job summary

AOC Metal Works is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to conduct in-process inspections and document results. You will evaluate sheet metal parts through visual, physical, and dimensional checks at critical production stages, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001.

The role includes shift differential and contributing to a safe, teamwork-based environment. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in metal fabrication QC, proficiency with calipers and GD&T interpretation, and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of hands-on quality control experience in metal fabrication, machine shop, or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with sheet metal processes (bending, shearing, laser cutting, welding) and ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
• Proficient in measuring parts using calipers, protractor, and reading a tape measure.
• Strong interpersonal skills to explain defects and collaborate with operators and managers.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot/cold warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-article, in-process, and final pre-shipment inspections on sheet metal parts.
• Use precision measuring tools to check tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Identify defects such as surface flaws, burrs, warping, and weld irregularities.
• Tag and document non-conforming materials to prevent shipping to customers.
• Maintain inspection logs, calibration records, and quality metrics.
