Job summary

The Baker Company in Sanford, ME is seeking a hands-on machinist to run sheet metal equipment used in the construction of safety cabinets.

In this role you will read blueprints, set up Laser, Punch and Brake machines, select tooling, and operate press brakes and punches to produce accurate parts. You'll perform regular maintenance and report issues as needed.

You'll apply Lean tools to reduce waste and ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards for our customers.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills required.
• Basic computer skills and math aptitude.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow job tags, work instructions and blueprints.
• Set up required equipment (Laser, Punch, Brake) and select proper tooling and sheet stock.
• Operate press brakes and punch machines.
• Perform regular machine maintenance and report issues.
• Apply Lean tools to identify waste and improve flow.
