Job summary

The Baker Company is hiring a Machine Operator in Sanford, ME to run machines that create sheet metal parts for safety cabinets. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up laser, punch, and brake equipment, and maintaining machines with regular upkeep.

This full-time position offers a $22.00 per hour rate and a 2nd shift schedule. Benefits include medical/dental, HRA, FSAs, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and more. A $500 sign-on bonus is available after 90 days of full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills and basic math ability required.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with simple software is helpful.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift and lift up to 50 lbs periodically.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow job tags, work instructions and blueprints.
• Set up equipment (Laser, Punch, Brake) and select tooling as per instructions.
• Operate press brakes and punch machines safely and efficiently.
• Maintain machines with routine cleaning, lubrication and fluid checks.
