Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Machine Operator II – Sheetmetal for the onsite 2nd shift in our Operations department. You will fabricate sheet metal parts, set up and operate brake presses, lasers, punch presses, and other equipment to supply upstream departments.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting work orders, and performing routine maintenance while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Proficiency with handheld tools and measuring devices.
• Ability to read and interpret written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate sheet metal equipment including brake presses, lasers, punch presses, sanders, and deburring machines.
• Fill part requirements for the kitting department.
• Read rulers, tape measures, squares, angle finders, protractors, and other measuring tools.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications with gauges.
• Start machines, adjust controls, and run trial cuts for proper operation.
• Monitor machine operations and adjust to meet specifications.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel for each operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
