Job summary

A growing employee-owned company is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic located in Charlottesville, VA. The right candidate will install, repair, and maintain metal systems in commercial buildings. Applicants must have 1-3 years of experience in commercial installation and be able to pass a drug screen. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work with others as a team to learn and perform tasks.
• Measure and cut duct work using measuring instruments.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to work site.
• Perform laboring duties related to installation and maintenance.

Job Description

The Sheet Metal Mechanic will install, repair and maintain by performing various duties in commercial or public buildings.

Job Duties

· Work with others as a team to learn and perform the task laid out by the sheet-metal superintendent and or lead on site.

· Measure and cut duct work using measuring instruments and hand tools.

· Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to work site by and, hand truck, or heavy, motorized truck.

· Perform laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of systems and equipment, and clean work areas.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-3 years of experience in sheet-metal preforming in commercial installation and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience.
• Overtime may be necessary, must be able to pass a drug screen, background check.
