Job summary

A premier manufacturing company in Newport News is seeking skilled individuals to assemble sheet metal fabricated products. Responsibilities include assembling parts per instructions, inspecting quality, and packaging finished items. Candidates must have strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and be able to lift 75 lbs. Experience with hand and power tools is essential. This is a full-time position with day shifts from Monday to Friday, offering stability in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and perform various physical tasks.
• Ability to identify metric and standard hardware.
• Good basic math skills (addition & subtraction).
• Good attendance and punctuality.
• Work efficiently with speed and urgency, with attention to detail.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to take direction well.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive movements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large, complex parts according to work instructions.
• Inspect painted parts for quality appearance.
• Package finished parts for shipping.
• Inspect painted parts for appearance quality.
• Package finished parts for shipping.
• Move pallets using a pallet jack.

1st Shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assemble Sheet metal fabricated products, including complex powder coated sheet metal enclosures.

Duties:

• Assemble large, complex partsaccording to work instructions and/or blueprints.
• Install nuts, bolts, rivets etc byhand or with hand tools.
• Identify, count, and labelparts.
• Inspect painted parts for appearancequality.
• Package finished parts forshipping.
• Move pallets with palletjack.

Requirements:

To be considered, Applicants for this position must:

• have experience using hand tools andpower tools;
• be able to identify metric andstandard hardware;
• be able to communicate effectivelywith supervisors and coworkers as needed;
• have good basic math skills (addition& subtraction);
• have good attendance and be on timeto work every day;
• work efficiently with speed andurgency, and attention to detail;
• have strong mechanicalskills;
• be able to take directionwell;
• be able to lift 75 lbs, stand, walk,sit, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movements;

Skills preferred but not required, can train:

• Able to read sheet metal shopblueprints;
• Experience assembling complex sheetmetal parts;
