Job summary

Vigor Marine Group is seeking a skilled sheet metal/duct worker in Seattle, WA. The role involves removing and reinstalling duct work, welding, and fabricating sheet metal to customer specifications, with emphasis on safety and precision.

Candidates should be comfortable reading blueprints, performing basic layouts, and working at heights. High school diploma or GED and prior shipyard experience are preferred; multiple certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 4 years relevant work experience, preferably in the shipyard.
• Proven skills, work history and/or applicable education will be considered in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Complies with craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures.
• Removes duct work, sheet metal, and related items; rebuilds and reinstalls by welding and fitting techniques.
• Fabricates basic sheet metal projects to industrial customer specifications.
• Reads blueprints and performs basic layout for projects.
• Performs basic welding – stick and MIG.
• Installs duct work, galley equipment, ceiling panels, etc.
• Incumbent performs similar work in all areas of the Yard as needed.
