Job summary

Modigent is seeking an entry-level Sheet Metal Installer I to assist in the installation, fabrication, and assembly of sheet metal ductwork on commercial projects. You will work under supervision to gain hands-on experience, training, and mentorship while contributing to safe, code-compliant systems nationwide.

The role emphasizes learning ductwork techniques, reading blueprints, and following SMACNA standards.

Qualifications

0–3 years in construction or related field; no HVAC/sheet metal experience required—mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn preferred.
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or vocational training in construction or metalwork a plus.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and at heights; PPE and OSHA rules are mandatory.
Field-based in commercial/industrial settings with safety‑first culture and regional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

Assist fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and fittings per blueprints and SMACNA standards.
Support layout, cutting, bending, and sealing of ductwork using hand and power tools.
Perform site preparation, material handling, cleaning, and organization for safe workflow.
Load/unload materials, transport equipment, and assist with rigging as directed.
Participate in daily safety meetings, follow PPE requirements, and document basic work activities.
Learn dry-side HVAC applications and sheet metal techniques through on‑the‑job training.
