Job summary

J.F. Sobieski Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Foreman to lead fabrication and installation of ductwork on construction sites. You will oversee a crew, interpret blueprints, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires strong sheet metal experience, HVAC knowledge, and OSHA familiarity, with a focus on scheduling, collaboration with project teams, and mentoring staff. Newark, DE is the base location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sheet metal work, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, HVAC systems, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction site safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct sheet metal workers in the fabrication, assembly, and installation of ductwork, HVAC systems, and other sheet metal components.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan work assignments and ensure accurate execution.
• Monitor daily progress, manage schedules, and coordinate with other trades and project stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance skills, productivity, and quality of work.
• Conduct quality inspections and troubleshoot issues to maintain high standards and resolve problems promptly.
• Maintain inventory of materials, tools, and equipment, and coordinate procurement as needed.
• Prepare reports on project status, labor hours, and material usage for management review.
