Qualifications

• Read, interpret blueprints and shop drawings for fabrication, assembly and installation.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and follow written instructions.
• Proficient in basic math and measurement units.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to handle problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must comply with specific safety policies as part of daily work.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine sequence and methods of fabricating and installing sheet metal parts.
• Perform all deburring operations and finish work on parts.
• Strip remaining maskant and silastic from finished chem mill parts.
• Remove burrs and sharp edges using hand tools and equipment.
• Smooth edges and remove buildup with abrasive tools and machines.
• Operate burring and grinding equipment and related tools.
• Control thickness with ultrasonic gauges and micrometers to tight tolerances.
• Handle and manage hazardous waste generated in the work area.
• Lead projects and participate in project committees as needed.
