Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training
• Ability to perform basic math including fractions and decimals
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Experience operating sheet metal machinery such as press brakes and shears
• Ability to cut, punch, and bend sheet metal as needed

Responsibilities

• Move and prepare sheet metal for work
• Measure surface dimensions to determine length, width, thickness, and coverage
• Operate shears to cut doors, sides, roofs, and small parts
• Operate punch press to cut holes and shapes
• Operate press brakes to bend corners and adjust back gauges
• Operate notcher to make cuts for doors, sides, roofs, and small parts
• Operate grinders and cutting torches as required
• Move material into position and maintain a clean work area
